About Thrive Leathers – Fashion & Trends in Bengaluru
Working in the Banashankari Industrial Estate means you get used to a certain kind of atmosphere. We are over on the 28th Cross at number 33. It’s a busy area in the II-Stage. You can hear the sounds of machinery from the neighboring units all day long. We work with leather here. The smell of the hides is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a scent that sticks to your clothes, but we don't even notice it anymore. The space is mostly filled with racks of material and a few large cutting tables. It’s not air-conditioned, so we keep the big windows open to catch whatever breeze we can. Sometimes the dust from the industrial estate blows in, but that’s just part of it. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for years. They know the leather better than anyone. There’s a desk in the corner where the bookkeeping happens, usually buried under a pile of invoices. The traffic around here can get really bad in the evenings, so we try to finish up and head out before it peaks. We aren't trying to be fancy. People come to us because they know where we are and they know we’ve been here for a while. It’s just a solid, local business where we put in a full day's work and go home. We like the simple nature of the routine.
