Thirumalamba Rice Traders

Down here at Cubbonpet Main Road, specifically in Shantha Veeraiah Lane 50, you will find us at Banashankari Towers. This part of AT Street is always crowded with people moving about and deliveries coming in. We have been running Thirumalamba Rice Traders for a while now. It is mostly bags of rice stacked up everywhere you look. The smell of the grain is something you get used to after a few minutes. We spend most of the morning checking the stock and talking to the folks who come in to buy for their homes or shops. It is a busy spot. Sometimes the lane gets blocked by a cart or a truck, and everyone has to wait, but that is just how it is around here. We don't have any flashy signs or anything. People know where we are because we have been in the same place for years. The towers are easy to find once you get off the main road. We keep a handwritten ledger, talk to the farmers sometimes, and make sure the bags are kept dry during the monsoon. It is not complicated work, but it takes all day to get it right. My father used to say that people will always need to eat, so we just keep the doors open and the rice moving out. It's dusty work and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired, but it is a good way to make a living in this neighborhood. We just take one day at a time.
