If you’re walking down Nanavat Road and turn onto Ramji Street in Gandhi Nagar, you’ll see our place at number 65. It’s a tight street, and parking is almost impossible, so most people just walk over. We deal with a lot of different supplies here, so the front area is usually cluttered with boxes that just arrived or are waiting to go out. It’s not the most organized looking shop, but we know where everything is, even if it takes a minute to dig it out from the bottom of a stack. The air feels a bit heavy here because of the old buildings nearby, and the street noise is constant with bikes and carts going past all day long. We’ve had the same sign out front for ages, and the paint is peeling a bit at the corners, but everyone knows it's us. Inside, it’s mostly just us working through orders and talking to people from the nearby businesses. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who have been doing this for a long time. We try to keep things simple and just get the work done without making a big fuss about it. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment comes in late, sitting under the dim lights and checking off lists. It’s just the way things go when you’re running a small place like this in a busy market area. We will be back here early tomorrow to do it again.
