The New Bangalore Ham Shop

We have been here at Indira Nagar 17th E Cross, 2nd Stage, house number 2, for quite a while. Most people in the neighborhood know the spot. It is a simple shop where we sell various meats and hams. The counter is where we spend most of the day, talking to people and cutting slices. It is not like those big supermarkets. Here, it is much more personal. We know what our customers like and how they want things prepared. The area has become very trendy lately with all the new cafes and boutiques, but we have stayed pretty much the same. The shop has a bit of an old-school feel to it. We keep the display cases clean and the floors mopped. On the weekends, it gets really crowded with people planning their Sunday lunches. It can be a bit frantic when everyone wants something at the same time. We have a back room where we keep the stock and do the heavy prep work. It is a job that requires standing all day and handling cold items. We don't have any mission statements or anything like that. We just open the shop, serve the people who come in, and try to do a decent job of it. It is just a local business trying to stay steady in a fast-changing part of town. We are just happy to be here doing our work.
