The Mobile Stores

The Mobile Stores is situated in Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar Maval, right on the Mumbai Pune Road at 3/335. Being on such a major road means there is never a quiet moment. We hear the trucks and cars zooming by all day long. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We have some glass cases for the phones and a small area in the back where we keep the boxes. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front window, so we usually have a fan blowing behind the counter. We don't do anything fancy here. People come in with phones that have stopped working or because they need a new screen protector put on. We do our best to help them out without any complicated talk. Sometimes we run out of a specific cable and have to tell people to come back tomorrow. It's just a small team of us working here. We spend a lot of time cleaning fingerprints off the glass displays because everyone wants to touch the new models. We aren't a corporate showroom; we are just a local shop trying to help people stay connected. The street outside is always changing, with new buildings going up, but our little corner remains the same. We take our tea breaks when there is a lull in the traffic. It's a decent way to spend the day for us and we enjoy the work.
