The Kumaragiri Metal Works

We're located over at 262, Mint Street Parktown, and we have been for a long time. It’s just a few doors down from some of the other metal shops in the area. This neighborhood has a very specific feel to it. It's old-school and industrious. Our place isn't anything special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s mostly just raw materials and the tools we use for the metalwork. We don’t have air conditioning, so we rely on the high ceilings and the fans to stay cool while we’re working. It’s a lot of manual labor. Your hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. The building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. There’s a rhythm to the day here. We start early, get the machines going, and try to get through the orders as they come. It’s a lot of standing and moving heavy items around. We aren't big on paperwork or sitting behind a computer. Most of the work happens right there on the floor. The noise from the street outside sometimes competes with the sound of our tools, but we don’t mind. It’s just part of being in Parktown. It’s a simple setup, no frills, just us doing the work that needs to be finished before we head home for the night and do it all over again tomorrow. It is hard work but it is honest.
