Telecom Only

Koramangala is always moving, but our little spot at 310/6 stays pretty much the same. Telecom Only isn't a massive store like the ones you see in the malls; it’s just a straightforward place where we keep a stock of mobile things. I usually open up around ten in the morning, and the first thing I do is sweep the front step. The traffic on this road can be a bit much sometimes, but it brings people in who are just passing by. We have a lot of different cables and glass protectors because that’s what most people seem to need these days. The shelves are mostly full of boxes that I’ve organized by brand, though they tend to get messy by the end of the week. I spend a lot of time on my phone or reading the news when there aren't any customers. It’s not a complicated business, just buying and selling and making sure the displays look decent. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit in the dark and wait for it to come back on. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the nearby offices or apartments. We don't have any big speeches about what we do; we just sell telecom stuff and try to keep the shop running smoothly day after day. It’s a decent way to spend the time, honestly. There is a tea stall nearby that makes the best ginger tea, and I usually get one around four.
