Tamarind Tree

You can find us at number 34 on the JP Nagar Main Road. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you’re looking for it. Tamarind Tree has been part of this block for a good while. The building is older than most of the new ones popping up around us. We have a few staff members who have been here since the day we opened. It’s mostly just a routine for us now. We start prepping the ingredients before the sun is even fully up. The main road is always noisy with cars and bikes, but once you step inside, it feels a bit different. We use a lot of tamarind in our cooking, which is where the name comes from. It’s a sour taste that people in this part of town seem to like. We don't have a fancy menu printed on thick paper. It’s just a list on the wall. Sometimes we cross things out if we don't have the ingredients that day. The furniture is made of heavy wood and it’s seen better days, but it holds up. We don't do any advertising. Most of our regulars live just a few streets away. It’s nice seeing the same faces every week. We just try to keep the place clean and the food ready on time. That's about it really. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. Just a local spot on the main road.
