T T Steel & Industries is situated at No. 19 in Shivapura, right in the middle of Peenya 2nd Phase. Anyone who knows Bangalore knows that Peenya is where all the heavy lifting happens. Our place is pretty much what you’d expect from a steel outfit. It’s a big shed with high ceilings and heavy cranes for moving things around. The ground is always a bit uneven and there’s a lot of iron scrap lying in the corners. We deal with a lot of industrial clients who need raw materials for their own projects. It’s a noisy place, with the sound of metal hitting metal echoing off the walls all day. We start quite early because the traffic in Peenya can get really bad later on, and we need to get our deliveries out. There’s no air conditioning here, just big open doors and some old ceiling fans that don't do much. We don't spend much time on paperwork; most of the work is done out on the floor with the materials. It’s a gritty environment, but there’s a certain rhythm to it that we like. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in this phase, but we’ve stayed put at number 19. It’s just honest, heavy work that keeps the wheels turning. We aren't looking to be famous, just to get the steel moved and the trucks loaded up.
