Swan Silks Private Limited has been operating out of No 1393 on 13th Main in Bangalore for a long time. We’re right at the 6th Cross in HAL 2nd Stage, which is a pretty nice part of town. The office and workspace stay busy because we deal with silk fabrics, which means there’s always something to check or ship out. If you walk into our place, you’ll likely see rolls of cloth or samples laying around on the tables. It’s not a showroom with bright lights and fancy carpets; it’s a place where we actually work and manage the business. We focus on the quality of the silk and making sure the orders go out to the right places. The staff here has been with us for a bit, so everyone knows their way around the stacks of fabric. We’ve seen the HAL area change from being quiet to being one of the busiest spots in Bangalore, but our building stays much the same. We don’t spend much time on big marketing talks. Instead, we spend our time looking at the weave of the cloth and making sure the colors are what they should be. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around and checking inventory.
