We are located over in Kanakanagar, specifically at 1 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar, 4th Cross. It’s quite close to the A M B Public School, so we hear the kids during their break times. Our workshop is usually noisy because of the cutting and welding. We work with iron and steel, making gates, window grills, and whatever else people ask for. There’s always sparks flying and the smell of hot metal in the air. We keep the raw materials stacked in the corner. Most of the time, we are busy with a hammer or a welding torch. It’s a small team, just a few of us who know how to handle the machines. We don’t have a big showroom. If you want to see our work, you just look at what we are currently building on the floor. Customers usually bring a drawing or just explain what they want, and we try to make it. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but we just keep going. We’ve been doing this for a long time now. The floor is covered in metal shavings and we always have grease on our clothes. It’s hard work on the back and hands, but it’s what we know. We just take one job at a time and finish it before starting the next one. Sometimes the metal delivery is late, which slows us down, but we find other things to do around the shop.
