About Suraj Metal Forms – Metals & Minerals in Bengaluru
If you go down to 68/2 Jalahalli, you’ll find us in the Samrudhhi Tenaments area. We are in the Dasegowda Building, right near the Raghavendra Temple. The sound of the bells from the temple usually mixes with the noise of our metal presses. It’s a workshop, so it’s never really quiet or particularly clean. There’s iron dust and scraps of metal on the floor most of the time. We spend the morning moving sheets of metal around and setting up the forms. It’s heavy work, and our hands are usually covered in grease by noon. The building itself is sturdy, though the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We have a few benches where we sit for lunch, usually talking about what needs to be finished before the sun goes down. People around Jalahalli know where we are because of the rhythmic clanking that comes from our unit. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. We just have our machines and the materials we work with every day. The space is filled with different molds and tools that we’ve collected over the years. Some of them are quite old, but they still get the job done. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, we work the metal, and we head home. It’s what we know how to do, and being near the temple makes the environment feel a bit more peaceful despite the noise. We usually keep the main shutters halfway up to let some air in while we work.
