Supreme Foods

Supreme Foods is over at 292 Old Krumbiga Road. It’s an old building, but it stays cool inside which is good for the stock. We carry a lot of the basic stuff people need for their kitchens—bags of rice, different lentils, and spices that make the whole place smell like a market. The wooden floorboards creak a bit when you walk near the back storage area. We spend a lot of time weighing things out and bagging them up for customers who stop by after work. It’s a steady stream of people, mostly regulars who live in the apartments nearby. We don’t have those fancy scanners or anything; we just know the prices and write them down. Sometimes we run out of something and have to tell people to come back on Tuesday when the truck arrives. The shelves are sturdy but they’ve seen better days, and we keep them packed tight so nothing falls over. There’s a big window in the front that lets in the afternoon sun, which is nice except when it hits the chocolate bars and we have to move them. It’s a simple operation where we just try to keep the bins full and the floor swept. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket, just a local food shop for the street. Usually, we sweep up one last time before locking the front door for the night.
