You can find us at 68 Near Ayappa Temple on Avenue Road. This part of the city is always loud and full of people moving around so it’s never quiet here. We work with metal and it is a dusty job most of the time. My hands are usually dirty by the end of the day but that’s just the nature of the work we do. Being near the Ayappa temple helps people find us because everyone knows that landmark. We make different things out of metal and sometimes people bring in specific requests that keep us busy for days. It is a small workshop and there is stuff piled up in the corners but we know where every tool is hidden. We don't really have a showroom or anything like that, just the place where we work and show people what we’ve finished. Sometimes the heat from the work makes it a bit uncomfortable in the afternoons but we just keep going. We’ve been on Avenue Road for a long time and seen the street change quite a bit but our little spot stays mostly the same. We don’t do much advertising because people just see our work or hear about us from a neighbor. It’s a hard job but it feels good to finish a piece and see it ready to go. We just take it one day at a time here.
