We run our transport business from number 86 in Doorvani Nagar. It’s right off the Old Madras Road, which is handy for the trucks. Sudhir Transport Pvt Ltd has been around this area for quite some time. The location makes sense because it’s easy to get onto the main highways from here. We have a lot of vehicles moving in and out at all hours. The yard is usually quite busy with drivers checking their routes and loading up. It’s a lot of logistics and timing. Our office is simple, just a place to keep the logbooks and manage the schedules. There is always a lot of noise from the engines and the traffic nearby. It’s a bit of a gritty job, dealing with repairs and fuel and tight deadlines. We don’t have fancy furniture or anything like that. Just some sturdy tables and chairs and a lot of maps on the wall. The guys who work here are mostly locals or people who have been driving for us for years. We know the roads around here like the back of our hands. Old Madras Road can get really jammed, so we spend a lot of time planning how to avoid the worst of it. It’s a straightforward business. We just make sure things get from one place to another. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us going. We’ve had some long nights here when things get busy during the festival season.
