Stellar Furniture

We’ve been here at 26/4 on the first floor for a while now. Finding us is usually easy because the Government Soap Factory is right there and the Metro station is a big landmark for everyone in the area. Some people get a bit turned around or confused with the Golf Club Road traffic, but once you see the building, you just head up to the first floor. It gets pretty noisy outside with the trains and the cars, but inside we just focus on the furniture. We have different tables and chairs tucked into the corners of the room. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in through the windows, so we are always wiping things down to keep the wood clean. My brother and I usually handle the heavy lifting when new pieces arrive at the door. It’s a lot of work moving stuff up those stairs, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and music. It’s more of a practical space where we keep what we’ve made or bought for the shop. Most days we are just here from morning until the sun goes down, drinking chai and talking to whoever walks in. It’s not a big corporate operation, just us doing what we know best. People from the neighborhood know us by now. We try to keep things simple. If a chair is sturdy, we say so. If a table has a small mark, we point it out. That's just how we do things here.
