Steel Associates

We are located at 9 1 Mothinagar on Gangamachari Street. It’s a pretty busy little spot where we’ve been operating for a good number of years now. We deal mostly in steel and iron products. If you walk into our shop, you’ll see stacks of metal rods and sheets everywhere. It’s not a polished showroom or anything like that. It’s just a working warehouse where things get moved around all day. My brother and I usually handle the front while a couple of guys help with the heavy loading in the back. The floor is often dusty from the metal shavings and the wind blowing in from the street. We get all sorts of people coming in. Sometimes it's a contractor needing material for a building, and other times it's just a neighbor looking for a small piece of steel to fix a gate. We don't have a big corporate mission or anything fancy. We just try to get the orders right and help people load their trucks without too much delay. The street outside can get really cramped in the afternoons, so we usually tell people to come early if they can. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we know most of the faces that pass by. It’s a simple business and it keeps us busy from morning until we close the shutters. There is always clanging and banging going on which can be a bit loud, but we are used to it by now.
