Star Steel Works

We are over here on Mysore Road in Kumbalgodu. If you know where the Ganesh Temple Road is, we are just right there at No-56. Most days it’s pretty loud in the shop because we are always working with steel. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons but that is just how it is when you do this kind of work. We started Star Steel Works a while back and have stayed in this same spot ever since. People around here know us for the noise and the stacks of metal out front. It is a family thing mostly. My cousin helps out with the loading and I handle the orders that come in from the local builders. Sometimes the traffic on Mysore Road gets really bad, making it hard for the trucks to get in, but we manage. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just cutting and bending steel like people need. It’s a messy job and our hands are always dirty by the end of the day. We usually open up early before the sun gets too high and stay until the work is done. It isn't a big corporate office or anything, just a workshop where we get things done. If you walk past the temple you will probably hear us before you see us. We have a lot of scrap lying around sometimes but we try to keep the main area clear for when people stop by to ask about prices. That is basically us.
