Standard Agri Engg. Co.

Our place is at Plot No. 1 in Thirumenahalli, over by the Jakkur Post in Yelahanka. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it's quieter out here, except when we’re testing the engines. At Standard Agri Engg. Co., the workshop is the heart of everything. There’s always grease on someone’s hands and a pile of metal scraps in the corner. We don’t have a fancy reception area; people just walk into the bay and shout for someone if they need help. The office is tucked away in a corner with a glass window that’s usually too dirty to see through. We’ve got a dog that hangs around the yard, mostly sleeping under the trucks where it’s cool. The tools are scattered across the benches, and we spend half the morning looking for the right wrench. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof during the summer months, so we keep a couple of big pedestal fans blowing, even if they just move the hot air around. We’ve been at this plot for a while, and the walls are covered in old grease marks and sketches of parts we were working on months ago. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do. We don’t worry about the decor or having matching chairs. As long as the machines are running and the orders are going out, we’re doing alright.
