Sriram Furniture

We are over at Ramanashree Chambers, specifically B-3 on Infantry Road. Sriram Furniture is a bit tucked away on Kika Street, not far from Bowring Hospital. The shop is full of wood shavings and the smell of polish most days. We make chairs, tables, and cabinets for houses and offices nearby. It’s a bit of a dusty place, but that’s wood for you. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights. Instead, you’ll see half-finished pieces waiting for another coat of varnish. Sometimes a customer brings in an old cupboard that needs fixing, and we see what we can do. It’s just how we spend our time, working with our hands. The area gets pretty busy with all the hospital traffic, so it’s always lively outside. We've been at 37 Infantry Road for a good while now. My father started with just a few saws and a hammer. Now we have a few more tools, but the work hasn't changed much. We just try to make things that won't fall apart after a month. It’s simple, heavy furniture mostly. People know they can find us here if they need something sturdy. There’s no rush usually, we just take one piece at a time and finish it. We often have some spare wood left over, so the corners of the shop are always stacked high. It's a bit of a maze sometimes, but it works for us. We're just regular people doing our job.
