Srinivasa Shamiyana Centre

Srinivasa Shamiyana Centre is up on the 1st Floor on S P Road in Yeshwantpur. Our address is 41308, and it’s a bit of a climb up the stairs if you’re carrying anything heavy. We keep most of our shamiyanas and event stuff here, though it’s a bit of a squeeze. Yeshwantpur is a hectic part of town, especially near S P Road. You can hear the traffic and the trains from our window all day long. We spend a lot of time mending torn fabric or cleaning the carpets we rent out. It’s a basic business. We don't have a fancy showroom. People come up to the 1st floor to talk about what they need for their function, and we write it down in our book. We’ve got all sorts of colorful cloths and decorations packed away in the corners. Sometimes it’s hard to find a specific color when the stacks get too high. Our staff is just a few local guys who know how to tie knots and set up poles quickly. We don't do much advertising. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who have known us for years. It’s a lot of dust and heavy lifting, but we’re used to it. S P Road is always crowded, so we have to be careful when we’re moving stuff down to the street level. We just keep doing what we've been doing for the community here.
