Setting up shop in Goragunta Palya was a choice we made years ago. Being at 1045, we see a lot of people walking by every single day. The center isn't some high-tech office; it’s mostly just files, folders, and a few chairs for families to sit in. We spend a lot of time looking at photos and reading through biodata forms that people bring in. It’s quiet work for the most part, but it gets busy on the weekends when parents have more time to visit. We’ve got these big cupboards full of records sorted by all sorts of categories. Sometimes the fans overhead make a bit of a rattling noise, but we don't mind it much. It’s just us here, talking to people about what they’re looking for in a partner for their kids. We write things down in big registers because we still like having things on paper where we can see them. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but it works for reading the fine print on those documents. We drink a lot of coffee while we wait for the next person to knock on the door. It’s a regular job, really. We try to keep the place tidy, but with all the paper moving around, there’s usually a bit of a mess on the main desk by the afternoon. It feels like home to us after all this time.
