Sri Venkateshwara Stores

Sri Venkateshwara Stores is right in the heart of Chickpet at 802/6 on A M Lane. If you know Chickpet, you know how busy and narrow the lanes can get. Our store is tucked away there, and we have been part of this market for a long time. We sell various goods, and the shop is usually overflowing with boxes and stock. It’s a very old building, so the walls are a bit uneven and the floors have some character. We don't have air conditioning, so it gets quite warm in the summer months, but the ceiling fans help a bit. People come from all over to shop in this area, so we see a lot of different faces every day. It’s noisy outside with all the carts and people shouting, but inside we just focus on helping whoever is at the counter. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays. Everything is just stacked where it fits best. Sometimes we stay open a bit late if there are still people around wanting to buy things. We know the other shopkeepers on the lane quite well, and we all look out for each other. It’s a tough way to make a living with all the competition, but we have our loyal customers who always come back to see us. The morning light hits the lane in a certain way that makes the whole market look alive, even before all the shops are open.
