You can find us at vishveshwaraiah Puram Mankhurd 2. This area is always full of people looking for something to eat and we are right in the thick of it. Our shop is packed with plastic containers and glass jars filled with all sorts of things. There isn't much room to move around inside because we try to keep so much stock on the shelves. The smell of fried snacks and spices is always in the air and it sticks to our clothes by the end of the shift. We have a small counter where we weigh everything out on an old digital scale that sometimes flickers. The sidewalk out front is where most of the action happens. People stand around eating and talking, and we have to keep an eye on the jars to make sure they are topped up. We get our supplies from the local markets and spend the mornings sorting through bags of lentils and spices. The rain sometimes leaks through a small spot in the roof near the back door, so we keep a bucket there when the clouds look dark. It’s a humble place and we don't put on any acts. We just handle the orders and chat with the neighbors who’ve been coming to us for years. It’s a lot of manual work but it keeps us going.
