Sri Srinivasa Foundry

Our place is Sri Srinivasa Foundry and you can find us at number 139 on the 6th Main in the BDA Industrial Suburb, Peenya post. It is always a bit dusty around here. That is just how a foundry is. We spend most of our mornings getting the furnace ready. It gets very hot once things start melting. The air smells like burnt sand and metal. We have been in this spot for a long time. My father was the one who really got things moving. Now I just try to keep the machines running and the orders going out. We do mostly sand casting. It is a messy job. Our hands are usually black by ten in the morning. We have a small crew. Some of the guys have worked here longer than I have. We don’t have fancy air conditioning or a nice waiting room. There is just a wooden bench by the gate. People come to us when they need iron parts made. We don't do any big advertising. Word gets around the industrial area. The traffic in Peenya is getting worse every year. Sometimes it takes an hour just for a truck to get to our door. We drink a lot of tea from the stall at the corner. It helps with the heat. We just focus on the work. It is not glamorous but it pays the bills and we know what we are doing with the metal.
