Sri Siri Lakshmi Rice

Sri Siri Lakshmi Rice is located right on Madras Road. We are very near Apsara Circle in the Chinna Chowk area. It is a very busy part of the town to be in. There are different shops everywhere you look and people are always on the move. We have been in this same spot for quite a long time now. The mill is not especially huge, but we have learned how to make the space work for us. The traffic on Madras Road can be a real problem sometimes, especially around the Apsara Circle. You have to be very patient when the big trucks are trying to turn. Inside the mill, it feels like a completely different world. We have the steady sound of the rollers and that familiar smell of the grain. Chinna Chowk is a very lively place to work. We do not really bother with any kind of advertising. People just see our old sign when they are passing by on the main road. We spend our days checking the grain quality and making sure the machines are running as they should. It is certainly not a clean job to have. We usually have a layer of dust on our clothes by ten in the morning. We drink our tea and just get on with the tasks. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons during summer, so we keep the side doors open.
