Our small furniture place is over at 5 Vijaya Nagar. It’s not a huge showroom like the ones you see in malls. It’s more of a workshop where we actually make things. I spend most of my days surrounded by sawdust and the smell of wood polish. It gets into your clothes and stays there. We started out just doing small repairs for neighbors, maybe fixing a broken chair leg or a wobbly table. Over time, we began making more pieces from scratch. If you walk past, you’ll see wood planks stacked up against the wall. It’s a bit messy, honestly. We don’t have a fancy display window. Most of our work is sitting there waiting to be picked up. My brother helps me out with the heavy lifting and the polishing part. We use simple tools, nothing too high-tech. Sometimes the rain makes the wood take longer to dry, which is a bit of a headache. Vijaya Nagar is a nice area, and we’ve gotten to know a lot of people here. They just drop in and tell us what they need for their homes. We don’t have a catalog or anything. You just describe what you want, and we try our best to build it. It’s hard work on the back, but seeing a finished wardrobe or a bed frame feels good. We’re just local guys making furniture for the people around us. It’s been our life for years now and we don't plan on changing much.
