Sri Sastha Metal Mart

Sri Sastha Metal Mart is situated at 44/6 BVK Iyengar Road, right in the Kanchan Gauri building on Kanchan Gali in the Erandwana area. Being near City Market means it is always loud and crowded around here. This street is famous for shops like ours, and we’ve been part of the noise for a long time. The shop is filled with all sorts of metal items, from small fittings to larger pieces stacked up in the back. It’s a bit of a maze inside because space is tight on BVK Iyengar Road. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, and sometimes we have to use a tall ladder to reach what a customer wants. It’s dusty work, and our hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock all day. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that; we just keep the front open to the street. The area is always busy with carts and trucks delivering goods, so it can be quite a struggle just to get through the door some mornings. We don’t do much advertising because most people find us just by walking through the market. It’s a straightforward business where we sell what we have and try to keep track of everything in our ledger. It's a lot of work but it's what we know. We aren't fancy, just a metal shop in a busy market.
