Sri Sairam Stores

I have been here at Sri Sairam Stores on MG Road for a long time now. We are tucked right behind the old market in Venkatagiri Kote. It gets busy in the mornings when everyone is out doing their shopping near the market. My day starts early, usually opening up the shutters before the sun gets too high. I spend a lot of time just moving boxes and making sure things are in the right spot. People come in looking for small things for their homes. I know most of the faces that walk through the door because they live right around here. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to keep everything clean, but that is just how it is. It is a small place at number 73, nothing too fancy to look at. We keep the basics on the shelves. There is always a lot of noise coming from the market side, but it feels normal after all these years. I like the routine of it. Even when it’s slow, there is always a bit of paperwork or a shelf to tidy up. You get used to the rhythm of the street and the people stopping by to ask about their families. It is just a regular shop where we try to keep what people need every day. My brother helps me sometimes when I need to go get more stock from the bigger suppliers across town. It's a simple life but it works.
