Sri Sai Tiles

We have been running Sri Sai Tiles for a good while now at Sp 104 on Post Office Road. Being in the Ambattur Industrial Estate means there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around outside our doors. Most days, it is just us moving heavy boxes of ceramic and vitrified tiles from the back to the front so people can see them better in the light. It gets pretty dusty in here, especially when the wind picks up from the main road, but that is just part of the job. We don’t have a big fancy showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. It is just a practical space where we keep our stock and talk to the contractors who come by. Sometimes a homeowner drops in because they are fixing a bathroom and they spend an hour looking at different shades of white. We just let them take their time. My desk is usually covered in tea cups and delivery notes that need sorting. We try to keep things organized, but when three trucks show up at once, things get a bit messy for a few hours. The neighbors here are mostly other small shops and workshops, so we all know each other well. We usually eat lunch sitting on the crates near the entrance. It’s not a glamorous life, but we like being part of the industrial estate and helping people find what they need for their floors.
