Sri Raja Rajeshwari Furniture Works

We’ve been here at 75 Padarayanapura MSR Road for a while now. Sri Raja Rajeshwari Furniture Works isn't a big fancy place, just a regular shop where things get done. If you walk down towards Gokula Extension, you’ll probably hear the machines before you see us. There is always sawdust on the floor and some half-finished chairs or tables leaning against the walls. It gets a bit crowded sometimes when we have a lot of wood delivered, but that’s just how it is. My hands are usually covered in some kind of stain or glue by midday. It’s hard work and the fans don’t always keep the heat away, but we like being part of this neighborhood. People stop by to ask questions or just to see how a piece of timber is turning into something useful. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. Just the workshop and the tools we use every day. Sometimes the traffic on MSR Road is so loud we have to shout to hear each other, but you get used to it after a few years. It’s a bit messy here, but it's an honest mess. We just show up, do the work, and hope the furniture lasts a long time. It’s a simple life really. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing things down, we'd rather be working with our hands. That's just the way it goes here.
