Sri Raghavendra Rice Traders

Our shop is at number 2461 on Beml Main Road. It’s a busy part of New Thippasandra, and we’ve been here quite some time now. Most of the day is spent moving heavy bags of rice around. The air in here always has that dusty, sweet smell of raw grain. We keep different varieties stacked up along the walls. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful how we pile things up so nothing falls over. Sometimes the sidewalk gets blocked when a truck is unloading, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; we just use a ledger and a pen to keep track of what goes out. It works for us. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We see a lot of housewives and local cooks coming in to get their weekly supply. We know most of them by name. There’s a small stool by the door where one of us usually sits when things are quiet. The traffic on Beml Main Road never really stops, so there’s always noise coming in from the street. We don't mind it much. It’s just a regular rice shop, doing what we’ve always done. We don't see the need for flashy signs or advertisements. People know where the good grain is and they just come to us directly.
