Sri Raghavendra Furnitures

We are located at 2254 Sahakara Nagar on Kumbara Street, right across from the Sterling Apartments. Our shop, Sri Raghavendra Furnitures, is a place where you will always hear the sound of a saw or the smell of wood polish in the air. We don’t have a fancy storefront with glass windows. Instead, we have wood planks stacked up against the walls and sawdust on the floor. Most of our day is spent measuring pieces of timber or putting the finishing touches on a wardrobe or a set of chairs. It is physical work and our clothes usually end up covered in dust by lunch. The street outside is quite narrow, and when the delivery trucks come, it can get a bit tight with the traffic from the apartments. We have a couple of old fans that don’t do much against the heat, but they keep the smell of the varnish from getting too strong. People from the neighborhood often drop by just to see what we are working on. We don’t use any big machines, just the standard tools that get the job done. Sometimes we sit outside on the pavement when the shop gets too crowded with half-finished furniture. We’ve been here for a long time and we know the quirks of every piece of wood we handle. It isn't a fast process, but we just keep at it until the piece is ready to go out. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. We usually close up when the light starts to fade.
