Down here at No. 36 on the 1St Main in B-Sector, things stay pretty consistent. Yelahanka New Town is a busy part of the city, and our spot is right in the middle of it all. Sri Manjunatha Rice Agency is where we spend most of our waking hours, surrounded by stacks and bags. It’s not a place for sitting around doing nothing. Usually, the air smells a bit like grain and dust, which is just part of the job. People in the neighborhood know where to find us. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy, just the address and our name on the front. Some days the traffic on the main road is a bit much, but once you step inside the agency, it’s all about the work. We handle the heavy lifting and the counting without much fuss. The floor is concrete and shows the wear from all the years of dragging bags across it. It’s a bit noisy when the deliveries arrive, but that’s how it goes in a place like this. We have a few chairs for when we take a quick break, but mostly we are on our feet. It’s just a local business trying to keep things moving. We’ve been at this B-Sector location for a while now, and the routine hasn’t changed much over the years. We show up, we do the work, and then we head home like everyone else on 1St Main.
