Sri Manjunatha Provision Store

Sri Manjunatha Provision Store is located out in Jalahalli on the Wheeler Road Extension. It’s your typical neighborhood store where you can find the basics like rice, dal, and different kinds of soap. We’ve got bags stacked up along the walls and jars of colorful sweets near the front counter for the kids who come in after school lets out. The space inside isn't very big, so we have to use every single inch of the walls for shelving. It can be a bit of a squeeze when the morning rush happens and everyone wants their milk and bread at the exact same time. Jalahalli is a quiet area mostly, but Wheeler Road Extension gets its fair share of traffic during the day. We know most of our customers by their first names since they’ve been coming here for many years. We don't have a computer system or anything like that, just a simple notebook where we keep track of our daily sales. Sometimes we forget to write something down, but we usually remember it later on. The old fan in the ceiling makes a clicking noise that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We stay open late into the evening because people often realize they’ve run out of something while they’re cooking their dinner. It’s hard work being on your feet all day long, but it keeps us busy and out of trouble. We don’t have a fancy sign, just the name painted above the door. It’s just a simple provision store for local folks.
