Sri Lakshmi Wood Furniture is down in Malleshwaram. We are at number 9 in the Vinayaka Building. You have to go into the Iind Cross Lane off Sampige Road to find us. It’s a bit of a hidden spot if you don’t know the area. We’ve been working with wood here for a long time. There is always the smell of sawdust in the air. We make all sorts of things like chairs, tables, and cabinets. The workshop is right there in the back. It’s pretty messy with tools and wood scraps everywhere, but that’s how we work. We don’t have a fancy showroom. We just show people what we are currently making. Malleshwaram is a very traditional part of the city, and we fit right in. Sampige Road is always crowded with shoppers. We get people walking in after they’ve been to the market. They usually want something custom-made. We just take their measurements and get to work. It takes time because we do it by hand. Sometimes we run behind on orders, but we try our best. It’s just a few of us here. We don't use big machines for everything. We like the way wood feels and smells. If you are looking for the Vinayaka Building, it’s right there on the second cross. We’ve been here for years and the locals know our work. We have an old dog that sleeps near the wood piles. He doesn't bark much. People who come to the building for furniture usually give him a pat.
