The sound of metal hitting metal is what you get used to when you work at Ganganagar Bora Bazar 72. We have all kinds of steel stuff here. It is heavy, cold, and usually leaves your hands smelling like iron. We spend the morning unloading the trucks that come into the bazaar. It is a tight squeeze on this road, so we have to move fast before we block the traffic too much. Our shop is packed with rods, sheets, and pipes. There isn't much of a system, but we know where everything is kept. If someone needs a specific length, we get the cutter out and the sparks fly everywhere. We have a small stool near the front where the older guys sit and keep an eye on the street. Ganganagar is a busy area and there is always someone looking for something to fix their house or a small construction project. We don't have a fancy showroom. It is just a floor covered in metal dust and some racks that have seen better days. We do a lot of lifting and carrying, so everyone here is pretty tired by the time we close the gates. It is honest work and we have been part of this market for years. People know us by name, and we know who is coming before they even get to the door. We just try to keep the inventory moving without too much fuss.
