Sri Lakshmi Rice Traders

Our shop is over in Gayathri Nagar, covering the space at 3121 and 3122. Having two numbers sounds like a lot, but it’s really just one big room full of heavy sacks. The air always smells a bit like dry grain and earth. We spend most of our time moving these bags around, which is hard work but it keeps us busy. The floor is concrete and gets quite dusty, no matter how much we try to sweep it. We don't have a fancy office area, just a small wooden desk in the corner where the ledger stays. There’s an old calendar on the wall from three years ago that nobody bothered to take down. We open the big metal shutters early in the morning and keep them up until late evening. Sometimes customers come in and stay to chat for a while about the weather or the price of things. We don’t have a uniform or anything, just our regular clothes that usually end up with a bit of white dust on them by noon. It’s a simple life here at Sri Lakshmi Rice Traders. We don't do much advertising. People in Gayathri Nagar just know where we are. The light bulbs are a bit yellow, and the wiring is visible along the ceiling, but it doesn't bother anyone. We just focus on the bags and the customers who walk through the door at 3121.
