If you walk down Beml Road near Jivraj Park, you will find us in the Narayanapa Building. It is an old building, but it serves us well enough for what we do. The main thing you notice when you walk in is the smell of fresh wood and sawdust. We have stacks of timber piled up in the back and halfway finished chairs or cupboards taking up most of the floor space. It can get a bit crowded when we have a lot of orders going on at once. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of our pieces are just sitting there in the workshop waiting for the last coat of polish or for someone to come pick them up. The guys are usually busy with saws and hammers, so it gets pretty loud during the day. Sometimes we have to shout just to hear each other over the noise of the sander. We use the sidewalk out front sometimes when we need more space to move the bigger wardrobes around. It is a simple operation run by people who have been working with wood for a long time. We know which planks are good and which ones will give you trouble. There are no sales pitches here, just the sound of work and the sight of wood shavings on the ground. It is just our regular way of making a living in this neighborhood.
