We spend most of our days here on Commercial Street. It gets pretty crowded outside sometimes with all the shoppers walking past, but inside, we just keep busy with our usual work. Sri Krishna has been in this spot for a while now. Some people know us from passing by every day on their way to other shops, and others just stumble upon us. It’s a plain place, nothing too fancy to look at. We open up the shutters in the morning and start setting things up. It takes a bit of time to get everything ready for the day. Usually, the tea guy comes by around ten, and that’s a nice break in the routine. You see a lot of the same faces around here, which makes it feel like a real neighborhood despite how busy it gets. Sometimes the traffic on the street makes it hard to hear, but you get used to it. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. Most of the people who come in are just local folks or someone who heard about us from a neighbor. It’s just how things work in this part of town. We try to keep things organized, though it gets a bit messy when we have a lot of stuff coming in. My desk is usually covered in papers by noon. We just handle things as they come and try to get home at a decent hour. It's a living.
