Sri Krishna Upahara

Sri Krishna Upahara is located on Rajbhavan Road. We start our day very early, long before most people are even awake, because we have to get the kitchen ready for the breakfast rush. There is always a lot of steam in the air from the big idli cookers and the sambar pots. It’s a busy place, especially in the mornings when people are on their way to work. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls. It’s mostly just stainless steel tables and chairs that are easy to wipe down. The noise of clinking plates and spoons is constant. We have a small team of us who have been working together for a long time, so we know the routine. Sometimes the queue gets out the door, and we have to work even faster to keep people from getting frustrated. Rajbhavan Road is a prominent area, so we get a mix of office workers and people just passing through. We focus on getting the food out hot and fresh. It’s not the kind of place where you linger for hours; it’s more about getting a good meal and moving on with your day. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the rushes are over. It’s hard work and the kitchen stays hot all day, but we are used to it. We just keep doing what we know how to do and making sure the coffee is strong. It's a simple life here in the kitchen.
