Sri Krishna Steel Centre

We have been here at Kengeri for a while now. Our spot is right in the Jalaram Commercial Centre, and if you know where Shivshakti Timber Mart is, you will find us easily enough across the road. Steel is heavy work. Every day we are moving rods, sheets, and various bits of metal around the yard. It gets quite loud with the clanging of the iron, but that is just how a steel shop sounds. We spend most of our mornings unloading trucks that come in early. The guys here have been doing this for years, so they know their way around different grades of steel. It’s not a fancy office, just a practical place where people come when they need metal for their building projects. Sometimes the traffic outside the commercial centre gets backed up, but we just keep working through it. We handle a lot of local orders from people nearby. It is dusty work and your hands get dirty within ten minutes of starting. That’s just part of the job. We don’t have any big corporate slogans or anything. We just keep the inventory stocked and wait for the next customer to walk in. Most people who come here are looking for specific sizes, and we do what we can to help them find what’s in the stacks. It’s a simple operation, really. Anyway, the sun gets pretty hot on the metal in the afternoons, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early.
