Sri Kamakshi Foods

Sri Kamakshi Foods is tucked away on 9th A Cross in the 3rd Block of Thyagarajanagar. We are right behind the Saneshwara Temple, which is how most people find us if they get lost. We’ve been at No.21 for a good number of years now. This is a quiet residential area, so we try to keep things low-key. We make a variety of food items, mostly things people can take home or use for their own cooking. Our kitchen isn't massive, but it gets the job done. We have a few ladies from the neighborhood who come in to help with the preparation and packing. It’s all very hands-on. We don't use big machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand, the way people used to do it. The smell of roasted spices usually hangs around the street in the afternoons. We don't have a fancy store front with bright lights. It’s just a simple door where people can come in. We focus on making things that taste like they were made in a regular kitchen. Sometimes we’re out of stock of certain things because we only make small batches at a time. It keeps us busy and we like the pace of it. Being part of the Thyagarajanagar community is important to us, and we’ve made a lot of friends just by being here at our little spot behind the temple.
