Being in an industrial zone means we’re surrounded by other workshops and factories, so there’s always a lot of noise and movement. We do precision work, which means a lot of measuring and double-checking our machines. The shop floor is the heart of what we do. It’s got that smell of oil and metal that you only find in places like this. We don’t have a fancy entrance or a lobby with a water cooler. People who come here are usually looking for specific parts or help with a mechanical issue. We spend most of our hours standing by the lathes or checking the calibration of our tools. It’s honest, hard work and it can be quite repetitive, but we take it seriously. Chinchwad is a busy place, and the MIDC layout can be a bit confusing if you aren’t used to it, but we’ve been at this spot for a long time. Our crew is just a handful of people who have been doing this for years. We don’t talk much while we’re working because of the machine noise, but we get the job done.
