Sri Chowdeshwari Rice Traders

Over at Banaswadi 634/8, you will find Sri Chowdeshwari Rice Traders. Our shop is filled with bags of rice from floor to ceiling. It can be a bit hard to move around when a new shipment comes in and we have to stack everything. We deal with a lot of different varieties, and we have to remember which bag is which. The sunlight comes in through the front and hits the dust in the air. We spend our time talking to customers who come in looking for their monthly supply of rice for their families. We have a big scale that we use all day long. Sometimes we have to help people carry the heavy bags out to their cars or bikes because they are too heavy for one person. It is a lot of physical work, especially when the weather is humid. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a small shelf for our personal things. The neighborhood is growing, so we see new faces quite often these days. We try to keep things simple and just give people the quantity they ask for without any fuss. Usually, we are busy until the sun goes down and then we sweep the floor and lock up. It is just a steady, local business run by people who know their grains. We keep the stock moving and the shop open for whoever needs us.
