Sri Chamunda Stores

You can find Sri Chamunda Stores on the second floor of a building along the Pune Satara Road at number 463/3. Being on the second floor means we do not get as many walk-ins as the shops on the ground level, but we have our regular customers who do not mind the stairs. We sell a bit of everything, mostly items people need for their homes like utensils and plastic ware. The space is filled with metal shelves that go all the way to the top. I keep a small wooden stool handy so I can reach the stuff at the very back. It is often just me here, or sometimes my nephew helps out when he is not at his college classes. The Electronic City area is always changing and getting more crowded, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have a small window that looks out over the road, and sometimes I just watch the traffic when the shop is quiet. The floor is made of old tiles that we sweep every morning, but the dust always finds a way back in through the window. We do not use a lot of technology for the billing, just a simple calculator and a paper receipt book. It works fine for us. People come in for specific things they cannot find in the big stores. We are not trying to be a supermarket. It is just a place to get what you need.
