Sri Banashankari Cane Corner

This shop is on Hanumanth Nagar, right near Kismat Nagar. We are close to the Canara Bank, which makes it easy to find if you're looking for us. We mostly deal with cane furniture and items. My father started this a long time ago. The smell of cut cane is always in the air here. We have all sorts of baskets and chairs stacked up. Sometimes it looks a bit messy because we have so much stock arriving. We don't have a big showroom with lights, just the shop floor and a small space in the back. People come from all over the neighborhood when they need a sturdy chair or a new basket for the kitchen. We spend a lot of time fixing things up or showing customers how the weaving is done. It’s hard work on the hands, but we enjoy it. The street outside can get quite narrow with all the scooters parked everywhere. We’ve lived around here for most of our lives, so we know most of the people walking by. If we’re not with a customer, we’re usually out front chatting or moving furniture around to make more room. It's not a corporate business, just a local corner shop where we make and sell cane goods. We use simple tools and traditional ways of doing things. It’s been this way for years, and we don't plan on changing much. It is just how we do things.
