About Sri Balaji Wood Wood Polish Works – Furniture in Bengaluru
The workshop for Sri Balaji Wood Wood Polish Works is over in Viswaneedam, on Harni Road near the Radheshyam Society. It’s a messy place, if I’m being honest. There is sawdust everywhere and the smell of polish and thinner is very strong. We spend our days sanding down old tables, chairs, and doors until they’re smooth, then applying layers of polish to get them looking decent again. It’s hard work on the hands and you end up with stains under your fingernails that never really come out. We don't have any big machines to do the work; it’s mostly just us using our hands and brushes. The shop is a bit dark, so we usually work near the front where the sunlight comes in through the open shutter. Customers bring us things that have been in their families for years, sometimes broken or scratched up pretty bad. We take our time with it, even if we get a bit behind on the schedule sometimes. The neighbors in Radheshyam Society are used to the noise of the sandpaper by now. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are and bring their furniture over when it needs some attention. It’s a simple trade, but it keeps us busy enough. We just make sure the wood looks clean and the finish is even before we send it back home.
