You can find Sri Balaji Home Decor over at 343/3 on the 10th Main, right off 100 Feet Road in Basavanagar. It’s a pretty good location because there’s a lot of foot traffic, though finding a parking spot can be a real pain for customers. The shop is filled with all sorts of things for houses like curtains, fabrics, and bits and pieces for decoration. It’s not one of those huge showrooms where everything is perfectly staged. It’s more of a place where things are stacked up and you have to look through the piles to find what you like. We’ve been here for some time now and the local residents know us. It’s mostly just a couple of us working here, helping people measure out fabric or showing them different patterns. The lights are a bit bright and it can get quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front. We don’t have a big corporate strategy; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. Sometimes we get busy and the shop looks a bit cluttered, but that’s just how it goes when you’re moving stock around. We try to be helpful without being too pushy. It’s a simple business and we like being part of the 100 Feet Road community. It’s just a normal shop run by people who live nearby and know the trade well.
