Sri Annapoorneshwari Rice Traders

Down here at Yeshwantpur Off Road 44/21, things are always moving. Sri Annapoorneshwari Rice Traders is basically a big warehouse filled with bags of rice stacked up to the ceiling. You can smell the grain as soon as you turn the corner. It is dusty work, moving those heavy sacks around all day. We deal with a lot of different varieties, mostly stuff that people around here use for their daily meals. My hands are usually dry from handling the burlap bags. The trucks come in early and block the narrow road, which sometimes makes the neighbors annoyed, but we try to get them unloaded fast. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just buy the rice, store it, and sell it to the shops or the people who want to buy in bulk. The light in the warehouse isn't very good, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned way to do business, mostly talking to people face to face and writing things down in a ledger. Yeshwantpur is a busy market area, so there is never a quiet moment. We’ve been at this spot for a good number of years. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and sweating, but it is what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and work hard to make sure the bags are filled right and the customers are satisfied with what they get.
